R & R Associates Consulting – Social Project

The primary objective of this project is to get the books lying unused for years in people’s private libraries, homes and offices in to the hands of those who want to read them to facilitate lifelong learning. By doing so, we intend to inspire people to read, learn more and widen their horizon. In addition we intend to fill the divide between those who can read and have access to English publications with those who don’t. The project will contribute towards the environment and economic sustainability of Sri Lanka by reducing the demand for the import of paper, books and ink.

In most cases, these unused books get eaten by white ants or get damaged by water and are eventually given to the recycle man to be made in to paper pulp and cardboards. We intend to intervene before this happens so we collect them and redistribute them to places that lack books. This includes public, university, school, and subject specific institute libraries. We accept any book in any language (even foreign languages) and condition on any subject for kids in the primary school up to PhD level.
